Hello, Iām Rakesh.
I build backend systems and APIs. Most days that means Java, Python or Ruby on Rails, and the AWS pieces around them: containers, queues, databases, secrets. I work as a lead backend developer and architect. I also review mobile code, mostly to find logic that should live on the server instead.
I like the early part of building, when the idea is still on paper. Paper prototyping is my favourite way to get feedback fast, and it has worked for me in large companies and in small startups. Once the idea is clear, I want code that is simple, clean, and easy for the next person to change.
I have worked in enterprise software, e-commerce, marketing, analytics, education and CRM. Along the way I got good at reading old code nobody wants to touch, finding out what it really does, and making it safe to change again.
How I work with AI
I use Claude Code every working day. Not as autocomplete, but as an engineer I hand a whole task to: open the ticket, make the fix, raise the pull request, watch the build, check the logs, and only then call it done.
Over the last few months this became the normal way I work, not an experiment. The tool it reaches for most is the terminal. That tells you what the work really is: driving git, the cloud and the issue tracker, not just typing code.
A few rules make this work:
- Root cause first. Find out why before changing anything.
- Show me the proof. A fix is done when the logs say so, not when the diff looks right.
- Tests first. The test is the spec the agent has to meet.
- Small scope. If the change wants to grow, stop and ask.
- Save the context. Every session ends with a note, so the next one starts where this one stopped.
I usually run two or three sessions at once, one per task, and spend my own time reviewing what comes back. Most sessions reach their goal. The ones that do not are mostly my fault: a vague ask, or a rule I forgot to say out loud. That is also why I wrote The Knowledge God.
I also build the plumbing so my team can work this way: Claude Code plugins, skills and MCP servers that give the agent the context it needs.
